Hello to everyone.

I have problem. My machine FP4MA with contour 2 today does not start up, when power on button is pressed.

6 months now machine works perfect, now have this problem.

On the bottom of screen it writes 00, (CNC schaltet wegen Unterspannung ab. Pufferspeicher in Ordnung).

I search forum here and read some posts about batteries. I open the control board, and SAFT 7,2 V batteries looks like have bad contact, and also voltmeter read is 0,0V ?

Hope that batteries could be change and nothing is lost. ( I read that parameters is written on EPROMS).

If anybody coud help or have some advice, please help me.

Many thanks

best regards

Replace the batteries.....they should hold a charge for weeks...If its going to "0" in a few days they are bad.
I use rechargeable mobile phone batteries that are inexpensive and available at a local store...

Thanks for good advice Ross.
Hope that everything is ok with electronic, and is realy only batterie problem.

So, is there any other batterie pack on FP4MA to replace or only theese like on your pictures?

Best regards

There are two additional batteries i believe....(see photo) They are hard soldered to both the NSP (larger battery) and the
NSV 80 or NSV 90 in the big electrical cabinet (depending on your setup , having either a PC1 or PC2)

You can substitute Nicad batteries here as well but it requires soldering on leads so that you can locate the batteries away from the boards...
Only room for the original style SAFT units if you stay with the soldered on board setup....

The battery on the NSP board is what retains your programs in memory when the power is off....
