Info required - Arrows on Deckel Vice

Hi folks

I've just acquired a Deckel Vice and a little curious about two arrows on the top face of the jaws.

My gut thoughts are that as the vice fits on the Deckel Dividing Head and therefore can be rotated through 360° the arrows should line up with the direction of cut / rotation of the milling cutter.

Well, my belief is that because the vise can change position and that you can place the handle at either end of the screw , the arrows indicate the direction to move the top of the handle
to tighten or loosen the vise....Can't remember which, been a long while since i looked at mine.
Don't believe that it has anything to do with the direction of the cut.
