Table for my FP2

Hi guys.

I have the opportunity to buy a like-new FP3 "kipp-schwenk" table
to use on my 1966 FP2. On the basis that it's easier to handle than
the real FP2 rable when it's mounted. And more sexy. It has 5 T-slots
vertically with what seems to be 45 mm between them (vertically).
So it will fit well, I think. It must be the 2229, I think.

But it weighs 145 kg! Is it wise to mount it on my FP2 or is it too heavy?

I won't be using it much, but still?

Hoping for a fast consensus, TIA.

Cheers

Hi sneebot (Matt?), thank you for your very qualified answer.

I saw in my FP2 manual that the spiral milling attachment
weighs 100 kgs, so the 145 kgs ought to be okay.

I have to make a decision soon because the trader who has it
wants to downsize. It may be gone in just a few days.

But do I really want it? I have the large fixed table that goes with
the long reach head plus a normal FP2 angular table (ok condition).
And an original round table as well. So I am not really adding new
capabilities, I think. But if I buy this, I will sell the angular table.
No way I'll sell the fixed table - it's original with the machine and
I'll have to store it somehow (hard to do with just 12 sq. meters).

Of course I want it - if I regret I can always sell it later. :-)

Cheers
Erik
