Hey Guys,

I picked up an old Mori Seiki SL-1A lathe and the tailstock, which obviously hasn't been used in years was pushed off to the right side of the cabinet. It took some doing, but I finally got years of crud cleaned off it and the section of mount which was sticking out past the end of the bed and got it back somewhat into position for operation.

For the life of me I can't figure out how the base is aligned on the bed rails. it seems free to move around all over the place when the giant lockdown nut is loosened. Because I don't have any manuals for it, I am unsure if there is a gib or something missing that is supposed to locate the base on the rails. There are 4 adjusting screws on the operator side of the base which I would expect for gib adjusting, but nothing on the inside side of the rail. Should there be a gib in there?

Any guidance or pictures would be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance,
DB.
