Would love to. You want to loan the owner about 30K. He just bought a house. More important than a car I would think...

Talked to one of the engineers at Hardinge service about a month ago. We did not discuss the Conquest series as it wasn't in my sights at the time. We did talk about the T series versus the LC series. He advised against the LC ( stands for Low Cost). He continued on about how rugged the T series machines are and how they just keep on ticking..

I don't know if the conquest is the LC line? Still learning about them. I couldn't pass up this Conquest machine as It's local, Works great and the price was unbeatable...

The Conquest is simply the predecessor to the Conquest T machines. Likely built somewhere in the early to mid 90's. My T was built in '96 or early '97.

The only diff that I have noticed was the Conquests all seemed to have "0" controls and the T's all seemed to have 18's. But this seems to be more of a date issue than a model name issue. I don't know when the 18 came out? Some late Conquests have 18's on them as I have been told.

These are NOT of the budget machine design!

I am thinking he would need to be the one lending me 30k to finish that car

Cool to see you got a couple new machines in there

I have both machines. The Conquest T42 is the new and improved version of the Conquest 42. I believe the rapids are a little faster and the control is an 18. One major improvement is the linear guide ways are about 2x the size in the T42. Overall a bit beefier in the hardware where it was needed, otherwise a fairly similar machine. I think the tailstock is easier to setup and it is much easier to reset the torque limiter in the T42. I would consider buying another T42, but would not buy a 42. We don't have the absolute encoders but wish we did. We still have a 1988 OTB CHNCI that holds +/-.001 all day, hard to believe after 24 years. I got a quote for a new T42 from Gosiger and the pricing on those machines are way more than a similar Mori & Okuma's. I don't think they'll be selling many of them.
