EDM transformer question

Just aquired a Charmilles Roboform 200, machine was set up for(taged by mfg) 440 volt, and has multi tap transformers(4) for controls, pumps, generator ect, I always thought Charmilles were 380volt and would get a transformer with it, over site on my part, after purchase and recieving install instructions was glad to see multi tap transformers on it with selections from 204 to 480, taps are currently set at 480. Question is what is best? have heard that the machine is best at 380, I would like to use 240. Have an extra 240 to 380 12 kva transformer so can do either one, however there are some electrical "chokes"? I was told, in the front panel, with 380/420 v maked on them, would these need to be changed in going to 240v ? does the mfg change these out when you order the machine at a lower voltage, or do they just switch the transformer taps?
