    Default mits fx20k wont cut

Tried to cut some 2.0" 1018 this morning after the machine sitting for a week and she won't burn. It starts to cut but within a few seconds it stops burning and cuts the wire. the remaining wire is not fed through to the chopper. I have to pull it out of the lower unit, . I thought it might be the power feeders so I rotated them but no change. I'm cutting from an outside edge. Any ideas?

    Thanx

It could be the carbide feed rollers starting to wear (or dirty), or the 2 sealed bearings in the lower head on the accumulator wheel are bad. Check the bearings to make sure they're not rumbling when you turn each one by hand...they should be smooth as glass. If they check ok, then start the machine again, but move the wire tension and pre-tension down 1 notch each within the epack. It sounds like the wire is slipping out of the back rollers, so the machine can't pull the wire through to the chopper after it cuts it. That's probably about a 1461 epack, correct?

That was it! I'll need to get new accumulator bearings cause I can feel a little roughness when I spin it. It was not screwed in all the way (from the last maintenance) and crap had gotten in there.

    Thanx much Jim!
