Air over hydraulic 50T press too slow

Sure, however check that your current air over hydraulic unit and the matching press rams current working pressures are. Air over hyd units can generate very high pressures, that said some early units only produced 900 PSI and others 1200.
You don't want to supply more pressure then the ram was intended/built to use.
I am not sure why you would want to use a 12 volt drive, your going to need a battery and charging system.
Why not go with a 120 volt unit you can just plug in.

Even though your current hydraulic ram has spring returns for your single action hydraulic pump, you have a couple of options here one is change your ram to double acting (more costs) or just use a single acting hydraulic control valve that when the valve is out of the pressure function the internal spool will return to open center allowing the oil that was sent to the ram to return to reservoir under spring pressure.
Down side to this is that you will only have holding/pressing pressure when the control valve is activated.
Some single acting press rams can be taken apart and a bung welded to the opposite end of the ram to make it double acting and ditch the springs. These type of cylinders may or may not have high pressure seals on the ram end. as there is not much pressure required to return the ram (generally less then a couple hundred pounds of pressure)you may be able to do this and use your double acting and have power each way.
