    Default Wire forming

    Not your father's spring winder;

    Very impressive bending speed | CNC spring making machine - YouTube

    What are the upper limits on these techniques regarding wire diameter, temper, etc.?

    Conversely, my medical device junk mail is filled with stuff that would make implemex look like a blacksmith.

    My work-a-day is filled with 2D and 3D images of details that require 43,000 pixel per inch resolution to evaluate.
    Laser-ablated image masks on photopolymer printing plates.
    It's not just printing anymore, it's flexible packaging with high graphics.
    Think of potato chip bags, candy bar wrappers, juice boxes.
    Trash to the layman, big topics with SPC, high speed in-process measurement, closed loop controls and more.

    More things that can't be fixed with a hammer, and manufacturers can't find suitable help.
    Nothing seems to change.

    Regards,

    Larry

    Nice machine, but not one to buy for ones machine shop. I do make an occasional spring, usually winding on the lathe out of piano wire.
