Unfortunately "pharmaceutical equipment" is too vague. You absolutely do not want to use any solder containing lead but you also may need to worry about interaction between the pharmaceutical products and other metals used in solder.

For example, StayBrite solder is mostly tin with a small amount of silver. If either of those materials is unsuitable for use with the ingredients the solder would be unsuitable.

Most lead-free solders contain one or more of the following metals:
Tin
Bismuth
Indium
Silver

What you need to do is research lead-free solders that may be suitable and then ask the chemists if the materials will cause a problem.

Wire mesh can be soldered, but best is to weld or spot weld. As well there might be a way to hold the mesh in a folded part of the solid, as for example, when making a round strainer.
For soldering you can use Certanium 34C or similar with the appropriate flux.
