AC/DC Welder issue...
Has any one ever had a ac/dc welder work fine on AC... Work fine on DC reverse but not work at all on DC straight?
I'm debating if i should tear into it and check out the lever/switch that changes ac/dc +/- or if i should just load it up and take it to the weld repair place. Any thoughts?

Just switch it several times
Why do you need strait?
You can swap the leads and get the same thing

Let me add detail... its nice lincoln tig machine. I want to fix it, not put a band aid on the problem. I want to have + and - electrode to work. I did try running the switch back several times, maybe i will try taking it apart andc cleaning the switch before i panic....

I have found taking the cover off and blowing all the crud out of the insides with an air hose can work wonders.

You dont have the side off yet?
Its a dead simple switch

I did take the cover off after i got off the computer yesterday. It looks like the switch looks half mechanical and half technology. There is a micro switch that tells the brain that it has been switched to AC, Some things including the 110v outlets and other stuff are powered right off the switch etc etc. It looks like i will order a switch!
