    Mattei,

Whew, what a relief. I've been getting a little bogged down in another thread related to Bridgeport biting the dust. This is truly uplifting.
I don't know the Hardinge financial situation, but in the end this could be a leap forward for each company. Even if it isn't, and the new Bridgeport alliance only keeps the doors open, there will be a LOT of Bridgeport owners thanking their good fortune someday when parts supply becomes a reality for 'em.
My knee mill is a clone, but I'm very happy for the Bridgeport owners and the employees of the new alignment. Let's hope a good percentage of the old employee base in Conn. get's a shot at working in Elmira, and at something close to their old wage.
Hmmmmm, is Elmira a decent place to live vs. Bridgeport? Never been to either one.

    Sincerely,
    J. Elliott

You guys need to understand that Hardinge did not buy Bridgeport. They were given a licensing agreement to produce what was built in the U.S. by Bridgeport,Ltd out of the UK. Basically Bridgeport is still Bridgeport and will be using Hardinge mfg. plants to make their products. This is a great thing for all involved except maybe the employees that worked in CT. That is to be determined. Also, from what I understand the Series I, II etc. will be built in NY. Their Bridgeport XV VMC's at a future date will probably be built at the Hardinge, Taiwan plant and sold under the Hardinge name.

Hardinge is publicly traded company on the Nasdaq (HDNG). You can look at their financials anytime you want........

No downloadable Bridgeport Manuals on their website, but I contacted them with a manual request. We shall see what their response is.
