There is a clausing model # 6339 for sale locally for what might be a good price, the problem is I can not find any information on this lathe. Does anyone have any pictures or links to anything about this model?
Thank you
James

So the model 6339 is interchangable with the Triump line? On that page they refer to the 6574, 6575, 6534, 6535, 6576, 6577, 6536, 6537 but I do not see a 6339.

What is throwing me for a loop is the link above does not say what size it is and the one in the add says 48 ways but no dimension on the swing.

I'm pretty sure that all of the 6300-series lathes were nominal 12" swings. The brochure says 12-3/4" swing, L-00 spindle, 1-3/8" spindle hole, 4/12 MT spindle taper, 50-133 rpm for countershaft models and 30-1400 rpm for variable speed models.

I don't see a description for a 6339 but it might have been a two-speed motor and/or bed turret model. It looks like the 6300-series was the precursor to the 5900-series lathes so they probably date from the lathe 50's or early 60's.

Apologies for dredging up an old thread, but how would a Clausing 6300 compare to an equivalent South Bend - the SB's command more $, but is that b/c of brand equity or a qualitative difference?

thanks
