I posted this in the CNC forum and got no response.

Does anybody out there have any direct knowledge of these machines. We are looking at a model A1000/3. The only one that I can find in use is at a competitor and he won't let us in to look at it (wonder why).

I've never had much faith in Spanish made equipment. Every piece that I've had contact with has been an under-engineered POS. Maybe they've changed.

One of the other engineers has this project and we're worried because of the small installed base in the US. I just have a real bad feeling about this.

I have no knowlege of those lathes, but can't resist commenting that the Spaniards seem to have a "thing" for drilling machinery and tend to not have a thing for everything else machine tool wise !

They make some of the best drill presses on Earth, but, as you say, their lathe building abilities are often somewhat lacking. Wierd...

do they also go by the name "Timemaster"? i ran a large(96"swing)manual lathe in the 70's with both names on it. good lathe but no idea about your model.
