On my boyar schultz h618 surface grinder the rubber(very thin) way cover is ripped. Is it possible to buy a new one, or should I just look for new rubber sheet to replace it with.
The back cover is attached to a metal bracket in the back and on the front a metal bracket clamps down over it. It looks like the brackets are held together by tiny rivets. So it should be possible to take it apart.
I can take a picture of it, if that would help.
I'm not even sure that it is rubber, it could be vinyl or rubberized cloth.
If it isn't possible to find new covers what should I make them out of.

Thank you,

I have the 12 inch version of your grinder. I believe that the material is called Hypalon (sp). It is used for heavy truck tarps, like on semi's. It is thinner than rubber and more flexiable. I plan on replacing mine using that material and rivetting. Haven't found the rivets yet though.
