twisting steel

looking for a type of steel that I I can twist (cold most likely) for a rilfing lead. Wth out doing major changes to the bench. the lead that I have is out of some 3/4 sq. by about 6' and and that is what it needs to be out of by 6' long or idea Want to make a lead at 1 turn in 36

David, try checking out your local iron fence man, they usually have a machine that will twist square stock for making twisted pickets. I suspect that they would know how far they can twist a bar without it cracking.

I seem to recall Grizzley having one of those in their catalog. ... Let me see... Ah yes, H5502 on page 459 of the 2004 catalog.

Hummmm... Only does 3/8 square stock. Bummer. I can do that with my taping stock.
