Gears

Anybody know an online site that has/sells spur or helical gears at a reasonable price. I've found plenty of sites but usually they want to you to call them or submit a quote and they don't list all sizes. I'm looking for gears with a 1" bore and key and a 4 or 5" diameter face with a 20 degree pressure angle. It seems like they want a lot for even the small ones.

I've purchased stock gears from Boston Gear through a local distributor. You can download the Open Gearing catalog from Boston Gear

At the same site, you can locate a distributor near you and then call them to get price/delivery information.

I second Boston Gear. I bought a hole mess of gears for a project @ work about a year ago in the size your looking for and didn't pay more than $15.00 bucks for most (12-96 teeth). Finding them pre-board might be the where some of the cost is comming from -I board and broched the ones I got. We used Motion Industries.
