Thread: Smart & Brown Model A lathe

Hello machinists,
I have this week taken delivery of my "new" Smart & Brown model A Mk2 lathe, It is a thing of great beauty and I love it.
Does anyone have pictures of the taper turning attachment, mine came with the bottom casting but not the slide that goes on top.
Also I cannot figure out how to operate the backgear Ive been looking for a pin to uncouple the bull wheel but as the gears are under a cover I cant seem to find many clues.
If anyone has a photocopied manual they wish to sell I would be very interested.

Thanks Mark, i did that last night after posting here. I think my actual machine is the second one in the photo gallery , that was spooky.
