Thread: south bend help

I'm going to look at a south bend lathe in the next few days, it's a belt-jumper, year unknown, size unknown (until I go look at it anyways, lol), and not being very knowledgeable about these machines, any tips you guys can give on evaluating this machine for purchase (BTW, it's not under power) would be greatly appreciated! also, any generic 'rules of thumb' on values of these things would be great as well.....thanks in advance

What part of MD are you from? Lots of SB owners around; one of us may even go look with you. You might also put this in the South Bend forum.
