I’m in the process of designing a tool post mounted live tooling/drilling attachment for my 9x20 lathe. I’d like to use R8 collets but I just don’t have the space. So I’m thinking of using MT2 because it will fit in the space I have. But I’ve read that using MT tapers for rotating tools is a bad idea. I’m not looking to do any major milling. I’m going to use it mostly for drilling bolt patterns, but I’d like to do some light milling with it using an End Mill Holder like this one http://busybeetools.ca/cgi-bin/picture?&NETID=0421400810040578070&NTITEM=415415 Can someone steer me in the right direction.
