Is there anyother application for a thread size of an-16 other than locknuts?
JIC hydraulic fittings?
Thanks for the information
AN = Army Navy
All the aircraft fuel and oil system fittings for the last 70 - 80 years
some race teams use that size for oil systems
Inlets for Holley Carburetors.
Matt. Correct me if Iím wrong, but I thought JIC used UNF threads.
Everyone of the bearing retainers in the VersaMil line of machines is a 16 pitch thread. From a manufacturing point of view, it's really nice that the majority of the fasteners you have to make are all one pitch.
JIC and AN do use UNF threads. AN-16 is 1" nominal inside dia, the 16 means 16/16".
That thread is also used on "Boss O-Ring" hydraulic fittings
