I am doing some rifle barrel chambering and have need for a indicator with a long point. I have a Interapid .0001" indicator that I would like to put a longer point on. I realize the readings will not be accurate but I am only using it to align the barrel so exact measurements are not desired. My question is will the indicator functionally handle the longer point. I can buy one that's 2.75" long which is about 2.5 times longer than the one currently on my Interapid. Thanks fo Responding in Advance.

J.,
Yes, you can place a longer point on an Interapid indicator. Used to do it all the time with mine. It will be inaccurate if you are measuring distance with the indicator. Tramming something in is fine.

Yes just indicating you will be fine but measuring will change because the "cosine error" will increase with the longer point that's simplest way to put it maybe.
