Boring with grease slots

I am trying to bore out a 3" long bushing that has several grease slots already machined into it. Every thing I try I get a terrible finish. I am using a 3/4" boring bar at 300 rpms .0076 ipm.

I think that may be a situation where you will have to fill the slots with a hard wax (actually shellac in actual practice) to prevent an interrupted cut. Diamond dopping wax (actually shellac) is one of the hardest. You melt it into the slots and then melt it out again after machining followed by cleaning with denatured alcohol.

Bronze nickel alloy, bore size 1.750, 9mm radius, and taking .003 cuts. I am taking .009 off
