My daughter has been ballet dancer for a dozen years.(teenager now) She wears out pointe shoes like there is no tomorrow. I have boxes of her old worn out shoes. At $80-100 dollars a pair and as many as 6-10 pair per year, I want to recoup some of my investment. I want to copper or brass plate them and make night stand ballerina shoe lamps and maybe sell the lamps for $100 or so each on E-bay etc.
My question is what can I coat the pointe shoes' textile material with so I can then plate them ? is there a conductive metal paint I can spray or brush coat them with?
