We have an old Cushman Super Spacer 30-841-08-000B which we have used for years and it recently locked up on us after a couple weeks of non use. I've been trying to figure out how to break the whole thing down and clean it but it has been like trying to solve a puzzle without documentation. I've taken the chuck off and I've taken out the master index plate in the bottom but I didn't take out the springs as one side looked like a bear to get out. Where I'm at now is I need to get to the bearings but I can't figure out how to take off the plate with the degree measurements. The two holes on the front of the plate but they seem to be grease holes. Are there more bolts under the spring mechanism in the bottom? I had a pretty good view in there and I didn't see anything but maybe I missed it. I'm really hoping I don't have to take all that out too. I'm just at a lose of how to get the thing off.

Mackerman,

It's been a long time since I disassembled mine, so I'm going on memory here.

From the backside, remove the masking plate and the main dividing plate. That should
expose enough of the mechanism to allow complete disassembly. Along the way you will need
to remove the lever and locking mechanism as well.

Google this number. 2,144,486

That is the patent number for the Super Spacer. The patent has a couple of diagrams that
show you what's inside.

Patented in 1939 by the way.
