Thread callout G 1 1/2 A on a drawing

I received a RFQ today from a potential new customer. The drawing is in German, which is not a problem, I know a translater or two. There are a few things called out that I am familliar with, such as surface finish, but I have never seen this thread spec anywhere. The o.d. of the part is 48.3 mm. Anyone else seen this?

G on a thread callout could refer to a pipe thread, DIN ISO 228, same as BSP

1 1/2 BSP would line up dimension wise,........... my chart shows an OD of 1.882" or 47.8mm

G 11/2 would be BSP1 1/2

But I wonder what the A means in G 1 1/2A

I believe it specifies an external thread.

That is correct, it is a British Straight Pipe thread, external. I quoted what I believe is a very reasonable price to cut the thread in customer supplied material, but I have not heard back from them yet, so I'm not sure if I have a shot at it or not. It will be a decent job if I get it.
