I have a mini lathe and want to install a DRO. Both X and Y axis are 600mm.One can be used as is and the other one is way too long.I took an end off and found what appears to be a precision piece of glass running the length. My question is: Can I shorten this if I'm careful not to damage the glass using a diamond micro saw?
