I have two flanged oilite bearings to press into aluminum. The OD's are 20 and 16mm. I don't want to break them - but I don't want them to spin after placement. I plan to ream the hole, but to what diameter? The part is a replacement feed rod/screw bracket for a manual lathe that sits at room temperature - so no big temperature swings. Thoughts?

I would go for .001" to .0005" of interference. My guess is you will have to get custom reamers ground to inch sizes, think you can still do this in McMaster.

Probably take several measurements of the bushings before so you know that you are ordering the right size.

Since it is bronze, you might consider an adjustable hand reamer. Good size control. Could be used for other jobs. More versatile. If you have the room to get it through the part. The blades are slightly tapered, you set the size at the top.

Might be an ideal application for an "electric motor bearing" reamer. adjustable, and the right material!
