Default Ex GSA EMCO lathe "cleaned up"

Am I imagining things? I'm thinking this is one of those covered in rust Government Liquidation machines.

I may be guessing but isn't the chuck and the compound sandblasted?

And the ways seem to have funny "swirl" marks?

    Hi,
I don't think the chuck was sandblasted, I think it was painted! In some of the images you can see over spray where the spindle meets the headstock assembly. I don't know which is worse.

It looks as if he did the parts he couldn't paint with a wire cup.

Only the stand door and gearshift decal missing? What about the carriage traverse handwheel and auto crossfeed handle?

Decal plates missing from the thread gear shift knobs too. Also the tailstock handwheel looks suspect as not original....way too large and styling not right for Emco. Total repaint too.... Emco never used that "aqua" color.
