I am in the process of making a mainspring barrel for a clock. I have turned the barrel and created an indexer for the teeth spacing and before i go any further i thought i would ask here if anyone one has thoughts on the fly cutter i have made to cut the teeth

I see no problem with the flycutter if the profile in the cutting tool correct and you have clear.
Are you sure these are nice straight walls? I do not do clocks more bigger gears and those are never nice straight angles.
Do I at least see a leading rad?
Gear making is an art all on it's own. What seems straight never is due to the rolling action and contact.
Grind the correct form into your cutting tool and all good here.

Clearance on the cutting edge. The top(front?) of your tool does the cutting. All the sides around it must be angled away so they don’t rub.

Five areas of clear on this tool.
Front (bigger), two sides (often smaller), and the root rads which blend the two. If these rads exist there is cylindrical and conical which act differently.
