Last time I had springs made of it four years ago, it was around $89-100 lb. I have a piece 3/8 OD about foot long given to me as a sample nearly 25 years ago. Talking about stout, can't hardly bend it or cut it!

I would try a couple of shops in town. I used to make tons of parts out of it when I was at Mike's place (FP) and my old shop. Less than a length may be a problem for somewhere like Fry Steel. If you get stuck, give me a shout I may be able to help. I may have recently burned my bridge to go grab a piece, but can get you a supplier.

SwissPro, I looked at that website but it looks like they only do wire.
I'm watching eBay. I did a little searching online for a retailer, I don't expect to find one though. All I need is at least .900 diameter, at least 2" length, and I'd probably buy 3 feet if you got it.
I'll start bugging the local shops soon.
