Hi Gents,

im trying to holding 1/4 aluminum plate down with 1/4-20 screws.

machining out side profile only
it is 7" x 24" i can make holes as many i want.

i was thinking putting 1/4" holes every 3 inches.

please share your knowledge

Thank you Tae

Are you making just 1? If so, just put strap clamps on the long sides(three per side) and mill the short sides. Then clamp the short sides(2 per side) and mill the long sides.

Hi, Thanks for the ideas...
but i wast going to chamfer it because it is odd shape.

so needs to be machined 1 at a time

How accurate do you need the chamfers to be? To mill I would think you could get away with every 6"-8" apart, especially if you used thick 1" washers.

This sounds like a good candidate for a vacuum table to me.

2 rows of 3 bolts with a long strap clamp should be all you need. We make our own, just grab a chunk of 1018 flat stock saw to whatever length you need, and drill 3 clearance holes in it.

i was making some sort of cap.

i decided to put 8 holes 2.5 inch spacing.

it worked well.

Thank you!
