Default I need measurement on cxa tool post dove tail

If someone could measure a cxa tool post or a tool holder. I have a Dorian Quad 35 tool post and want to be sure the cxa dovetail will fit. I was going to make my own but I may get a buy on a bunch of cxa if they will fit. Thanks Much Kenny

But looks like it is missing the critical dovetail dimensions.

Whitis, I thank you for your time and effort but if it's in there I wouldn't know it if I found it. I just need for some one who has one to take a yardstick and get within an 1/8 of an inch or 0.125. I am not using this figure to make one. I am just trying to find out if a cxa will fit my Dorian quad index 35 tool post. Thanks Kenny

Well, Blake got me all straightened out. Ebay seller listed a Dorian Quad Index tool post #35 but I actually have a QITP 40 which is the dove tail size of a CA not CXA tooling. A smidge large for my 14.5 South Bend. Thanks for your help guys. Kenny

So what's so secret about the measurements that the solution takes place in a pm, not posted in the thread? Might be helpful to others for future reference if they were posted in the thread.

Blake thought it would be easier if we talked on the phone since he had other sizes of tool posts also. The way it worked out we found his CA tool post, not the CXA I was thinking would have the same dove tail size as my tool post. Kenny

Kenny is right, I do have & been around all the different sizes of tool posts. It was easier to walk from one lathe to the others with a caliper in hand & cell phone in ear. Now where did I set my reading glasses?
