Ikegai A20 - Specs

Hi there,

I recently came across an Ikegai A20 which sits relatively close to me and I am thinking about buying it, because it seems to have some really neat features.

Now I need some of the technical specs for transport(mainly weight and length). It is the short 40inch version. Has anyone got a manual and can shoot a picture of the technical specs?

That looks to be a top quality lathe. Lots of very nice features.

same as a Daewoo A-20.

that Japanese girl looks very happy to operate the mighty Ikegai. she needs some safety glasses if she's going
to make chips though....

I first ran one in 1973.It had a star delta wound motor. I liked the two speed tail stock and the steel curtain protecting the lead and feed screws.This was the time the Japs started kicking our butts building machine tools.I could not wait to get a job to do on it.

I remember the lathe was very low to the ground so we put it up on steel blocks.

Thanks for all your answers! I allready saw the lathes.co.uk link and all these pictures made me fall in love with this machine. I read alot of good words about this machine, but I'd really like to know the exact weight of the short version to figure out, if I can transport it with my own trailer or if I have to rent another one.

Yeah, Mark knew his stuff when it came to machine tools. I miss his forthright " Sir Alex Ferguson " style comments.

Me too Tyrone, .....and compared to ''real life'' what we got on PM was as NOTHING
