#22B Hardinge vs.# 22 B&S Collet Questions

I recently acquired a small-ish turret lathe which is set up for #22B Hardinge collets. In my searches for those collets I keep finding #22 B&S collets also, but they have a square, reduced diameter shoulder on the nose rather than the conical nose of the 22B.

The nose plate on my lathe is made to fit the tapered nose of the #22B style. Is it possible to use the #22B&S collets with a different nose plate? Just curious, since the B&S style seem to be more plentiful.

Collet dimensions from the Hardinge catalog:
22 back dia. 1.498 OAL 4.250" head dia. 1.925" max round cap. 1"
22B back dia. 1.623 OAL 4.250" head dia. 2.035" max round cap. 1 3/8"

So, no, they are more different than the head shape.
