Metal Roof Trusses

I have talked to a couple of companies that make metal trusses and I would like to get a few more quotes. We have a 102x58 brick building we would like to re-roof with entirely steel steel construction. Anyone with personal experience using a particular company would be great. We have a 50X65 and 35x120 areas that we are also considering applying this roofing to as well.

Suggestions and comments on various suppliers and methods are welcome.

The building is in Kansas and it is an industrial building that must meet code requirements.

There's companes that do this kind of steep construction as daily business. Shop them and pirate their designs. Usually they can supply code approved trusses on your site for about the saame price ad you'd pay for the material.

Kansas is tornado country (duh!) so you'll have to make them to code and fire requirements but you know that. Steel trusses are not much liked by the fire people. they rapidly head and fail without theat sprayed on insulation.

Your building is of a size where close spaced trusses amd wider truss/purlin constructions compete. Have fun looking at both and getting confused.

Pitched or flat roof? Free span? There's so many variables that you'd best make sure the quotes are for the same thing.

Tornados, we don't worry about no stinking tornados, it's the snow load that is the problem.

The roof will be pitched, the roof on the building now is wood framed parapet style and we want to raise the roof to above the walls. It is a freestanding brick building that is adjacent to and connected to a much larger metal building. The present roof is not free span, we going to free span.
