I've come across a Hardinge BB4 and am considering buying it. Does anyone have an opinion as to what it would be worth, assuming it is in good condition.

I realize that this is really not a "need" situation as I already have a Bridgeport...its really more of a collector item for me.

Thanks,

gm.

If it is on a steel cabinet with the motor and ready to run, but no tooling beyond a draw bar, collets and the cranks, about $400. Condition can make for an increase or decrease in value. The other tooling (vise, index head, swivel and tilt bases, 4C cutter arbors, lever feed and power feed) is extremely rare and expensive if found. The ordinary 4C collets are easy to find. The crank handles for the feeds are often missing, but are easy to make.
