have not actually tried this yet but read that if you soak foam rubber in water and freeze. then you can drill perfect holes to match sockets etc.

Wish I woulda known to try that a few months ago. The foam in my Mahr Federal indicator case was shot. Made a new insert. Looks like a rat chewed the holes in it.
