DEAR PRACTICAL MACHINIST ~

Recently I aquired a nice piece of German-made machinery. Not knowing exactly what it was i turned to the practical Machinist site. I found this thread which helped me, but leaves me wanting more information on it's capabilites. PLEASE TELL ME WHAT YOU KNOW ???

That one has some strange fixture attached to the spindle, which would be worthless to anyone but the previous owner. The spindle can accept a 3 jaw chuck or face plate, like a lathe, for precision indexing. Sometime for milling, but usually for inspection purposes. There was a lathe like bed available for it and tailstock. By itself it's not worth much...couple hundred maybe.
