logan 200 drive box
Hi,
New to forum.
got a couple toys at good price (logan 200, atlas MF, tooling)
However did not get the logan drive box.
Not interested in restoration to original, therefore not buying a box that cost what i paid for lathe to start.
what are my alternatives given a motor (1725 rpm), some angle iron, pulley etc.
Also, looking at original drawing the pulley ratios are not that clear, anyone know what the rotation rate at the spindle should be for a given spindle pullley?
Thanks
Paul

I presume you are talking about the countershaft assembly?
You could use one fron another lathe if the pulleys match. Or you could skip it and install a 3-phase motor and VFD

Rex,
You presume correctly.
I have the correct motor hanging around so figured it would cheaper to jury rig something.

I have an old logan 820 that I have been using as a parts doner for other machines. I think the motor and countershaft assembly is still complete. If you're in the midwest we might be able to work out a swap of some sort. If interested send me a PM. Chuck
