Long Shank Tap

Failing a long tap - which will ne mega$ Loctite a std tap in to a piece of rod bored to a ''nice sliding fit'' on the tap shank, using green Loctite - works for me.

FWIW M12 is a ''non preferred'' metric size which tends to restrict what taps are available.

Or silver braze. Or TIG weld like I do since its most convinient..

Uhh, standard pitch M12 is about as common as anything and on ISO 262 1st choice list. (Aaand OP specified fine pitch....)
About as unlikely to find any sort of tap that long so doesnt really matter, with $$$ you get left hand M12x0.5mm 18" tap as well..
