    not used or surplus, but catalog items. any good sources?

    Buy the rolled stock from McMaster by the foot and get a double--preloaded nut too. Not too expensive.

    this place also has rolled screws for cheap: Automation 4 Less precision rolled ball screws

    those are probably pretty decent but i've seen some others that are so crude you'd be better off using allthread and a plastic nut

    Linearmotionsystems on ebay have ball screws and nuts up to 25mm. They can pre machined to your measurements and posted to your door cheaper than what you can buy them locally. Some of the local stuff getting sold, probably comes out of the same factory anyway.

    I bought 3 lengths of 25/5mm and am happy with them. I went with 2 nuts to preload against each other, but he has pre loaded nuts available now.

    Automation 4 less is awesome. 80/20 is 50 bucks a length instead of 75 per length from MSC. Lots of automation components etc, thanks for the tip.
