anybody have info on slitting mica i am cutting stacked pcs totaling 1" approx and cutting .032 wide x .025 deep 32 slots .020 apart. ?rpm speed # of teeth feed hss or carbide. Also 3/32,5/32,1/8 drilling speeds?

I assume were using .052 c/l. There are all kinds of mica, ones ive'd cut like rpms and no tool mist or oil ,mica will swell.Use a vac. Also put a scrap piece on the exit edge to take the chipping on exit.I'd use carbide

If it's Macor or similar then, yes, carbide, or at least new hss and run really slow. It will dull hss pretty fast. It's going to chip coming out of the cut so feed slow. I never calculated anything I just learned by feel.
