Hi all.
Can't believe it, I got hit with a virus on my desktop PC . First in 10 years.
I was expecting a Package that was coming with 'free postage' from Hong Kong.
I got an Email stating that there was a Package to collect at the Post Office.
"Too heavy for the postage paid " and asked to 'Fill in a form' on the computer before collecting it.
Yes you have guessed, the form that downloaded was the Virus/ Trojan .
Lots of automatic screen changes and analysises and an invitation to download a program to remove the virus ( supposedly from Microsoft, and probably was )
Not trusting it, I restarted windows. It only gets so far and then a cymbal sound keeps
sounding and my computer is goosed.
I am typing this on my Laptop just to put out an alert.
Searching on the 'Postal ' aspect of the Virus origin suggests that it is an old Virus in USA that has suddenly re-appeared. I am in UK but my email address is AOL.COM, so perhaps that is why I got it.
But nobody is injured and its not as bad as running over a cat or a dog !!
