i'm looking for the the threaded pipe that is found on jackstands and scaffolding, does anyone know where to get this, i want to make a table that is easy to level.

I think you want to go to a plumber with a threading machine who has a set of straight pipe dies, in addition to taper pipe thread.

If not, depending on your lathe's headstock passthrough, buy a set.

Why can't you use, say, 1" allthread as the adjustable part of the extendable legset? Should hold all you want to hold on this "levelable" table.
The "nut" doesn't even have to be welded into the leg itself, think jack posts that hold houses up.

Cheers,

George

yes, i think it is an acme thread. they're usually close to two inches in diameter and hollow, i don't know if it's pipe or tubing. usually the nut is a cast thing with handles sticking out on both sides.
