I'm on a very limited budget, but need some machinery. Anyone know anything about STK Rebuilders in Elgin? Any info would help

JFrank3,

What kind of machinery are you looking at to rebuild? And how much repair do you want to do to the machine or machines involved? I might be interested to help.

I am local to STK Machine Rebuilders. They do very good work. I have been in their shop many times. I have had them fully grind and scrape a few machines I have rebuilt myself. The main hand-scraper is named Tim---a second generation rebuilder. His father taught both Tim and the other grinder operater/ hand-scraper.

Almost all of their work is on Bridgeport mills. They do lathe rebuilds too, but far fewer of them. Their rebuilt mills are well worth the money and excellent value for the quality machine you receive, IMHO. Very nice to deal with as well and have provided free tech support on all the jobs they've done for me.

I highly recommend them. Colon Kelly is the main sales rep.
