Recently I bought this Demag chain hoist.It is a PKV1-V1 with a 125 kg rating. I want to make it a 2-part hoist so it can lift 250 kg, enough for an engine block.
The bottom plate of the hoist needs to be removed in order to fit the end of the chain. I could probably work it in somehow, but I would like to inspect the sheave for wear.
The bottom plate on the second picture is held in place by 4 allen bolts. When I removed them the plate refused to drop out. It comes loose, but seems to be held by something. It won't budge, even with some gentle persuasion. To get to the inside I would have to disassemble the whole hoist, which seems a lot of effort for such a simple operation. Does anyone have a suggestion? Or even better, a copy of the manual?
