I use AOL and find that yes, it can be a pain in the arse. The problem with the email is that it is likely being sent to the spam folder. The people need to realize that they need to check this because sometimes important stuff gets sent here due to email addresses not being in your address book or having certain keywords in their spam filter. Sometimes inconvenient, but it can be worked around. I use AOL for one reason: it is cheap. I looked into DSL but no more lines are available in my area - the phone company has no idea when more will be added. Cable is too dam expensive (I am the only horse pulling the cart, so I can't justify $100+/month for their BS and basic service + additional cost for computer). There is radio based internet service available, but am looking at a way to make it less expensive to put in, namely trying to supply equipment myself (to their specs) so I don't have to pay their markup on it (again, I am on a budget & need to justify the expenditure of every nickel). Personally, I have had extreme service issues (lack of customer service and too much "customer serve us!") with both the phone & cable company in the past and would like nothing more than to tell them to kiss off; Please come and get all you ^%$@# cables and boxes off of my house and property! In the meantime, the AOL fee and local line only on the phone is the cheapest way that I have found.

Mc Mark,
Most of us who have been around for awhile know what a spam folder is. My trouble with AOL was very slight compared to the PITA I've experienced since AT&T bought out Bell South.
The threads to which I subscribed for a notification of posts subsequent to mine came thru fine till AT&T took over and they just started disappearing into cyberspace, nothing on email inbox, spam folder, or "mailguard" or anywhere else.
The only reason I'm made aware of those subsequent posts to which I have subscribed is by setting up another email account on Yahoo and using that email addy for Practical Machinist.

If you use a free email service you have the option to switch internet providers
without redirecting your email or other hassles. BTW, AOL has acquired
Netscape. Netscape works quite well.

Not AOL's problem
It makes more since to me that its THIS sites problem not AOL. I belong too and can get on numerous other Fourms. Never have any problems nor have I had any problems with AOL and haven't in the years I have had them as a carrier. So If One out of the eight fourms I belong to won't let me send a picture{invalid thread} it must be a problem for this site. Just sayin.

Could be a VBulletin issue indeed. So, tell me the cure and I'll get IT on it
