Old coolant fluids

Were they better and what was inside ?

Hell no they were not better. Unless you like rampant bacterial growth and the stink, dermatitis and pnemocystitis that went along with them. The first coolant I dealt with was fish oil based. Real nice when you get a face full of that. The chemical industry is so much farther along, I cant imagine going back to the technology of even just ten years ago.

Thank you - for some reason I seemed to remember they worked better when it came to cooling and lubricating, tool life, finish, that sort of stuff. Glad to know the modern ones are better.
