I saw a air powered circular saw today at a thrift store. looked well made. Made in USA all heavy Al castings. I suppose it would not spark at motor brushes but sawdust and static might still be a fire hazard. I guess it would work underwater. But who needs one. At a guess made in the 1960's or earlier.

PS: looked like a 7 1/4" blade as a guess. 3/4" supply reduced down to 1/2' pipe. must use a lot of air!

I think that air powered saws are used more for construction work. Like cutting shoring for after digging a hole. This is where they would have an air compressor, say for jack hammers but no electric or generator around. The saws I have seen had the same twist connector as the jack hammers use.

Bigger air tools gobble up air and a very inefficient. I had a good sized angle grinder that a 5hp quincy could not keep up with. It had about the same power as a big Milwaukee electric grinder. Air compressor 5 hp on three phase, or Milwaukee on less than 15 amp 120 volt...

I have seen those, like above they must hog air like mad.
Air tools are super ineffecient but if you need lots of power in a small space then they are hard to beat.
